David Lecours is on a mission to help professional services firms fight commoditization to win new business. He believes the antidote to commoditization is a Core Brilliance Culture. As Creative Director at brand strategy firm LecoursDesign, and as a Professional Speaker, David helps firms attract clients and talent by choosing a narrow focus, sharing expertise, and harnessing the power of story.
David attended the University of Southern California intending to enroll in architecture school. After an internship in an architecture firm, he found marketing more enticing. He began his career in International Marketing at Paramount Pictures. David worked as a Sales Representative for Reebok and then got promoted into Regional Marketing. The corporate world led to a quarter-life crisis and enrollment at UCLA to study, and eventually teach, graphic design. After working for Bright Strategic Design and The Mednick Group, David launched LecoursDesign in 1995. LecoursDesign is narrowly focused serving the Architecture / Engineering / Construction (A/E/C) industry. David achieved his Certified Professional Services Marketer (CPSM) designation in 2004. Mr. Lecours has served on the Boards of the Society for Marketing Professional Services and U.S. Green Building Council, San Diego Chapters.
David is married and also loves succulents, surfing and practicing yoga in his hometown of Encinitas, California.
